These overviews
of Dr. Kathy's five main topics will help you see decide which subject matter is right for you. (Click the title for elaboration)

"How Am I Smart?"   ~~ for teachers, parents, students, and families. There are also

  corporate applications, as well.

Do you know students who think they're not smart? Ones who give up quickly or don't even bother trying certain things because they believe they're incapable of completing them? TheyHow Am I Smart need to know HOW they are smart so they can BE smart. Knowing will increase their confidence and optimism about themselves, school, and their future. It's very powerful.

Are you frustrated because you haven't figured out how to reach some of your students or your oldest child? You know they learn differently, but knowing isn't enough. Which of the eights smarts are their strengths? How can they study math facts and complete long- term assignments using those smarts? What electives and careers might be a good fit? Can I motivate them better if I know how they are smart?

Do you have any students who misbehave or drive you nuts? Did you know their behavior springs from one or more smarts? Determining which ones will give you a new way to talk with them about their choices and new ideas to improve their behavior. You'll be more successful and so will they!

"The Millennial Mind" ~~ for administrators, teachers, parents, and leaders. There are also
                                         corporate applications of this message.

People from a generation develop similar characteristics because they're influenced by comparable things during their developmental years. Millennials, those born from 1982-2002, have been heavily influenced by the digital technology they use and play with.

Are you concerned about the impatience and demanding attitudes of students, children, grandchildren, and young colleagues? Are you tired of trying to keep them engaged? Is their "It's all about me" mindset frustrating? You're not alone.

Dr. Kathy Koch's thought-provoking instruction about how the eight different types of digital technology are affecting Millennials will enlighten and empower you. You'll understand Millennials' expectations, needs, challenges, and strengths. You'll be able to adjust old teaching, motivation, and discipline methods so they'll work again and also design new ones.

"Kill the Spider: Lasting Solutions to Children's Problems"
~~ for principals, teachers, and parents

Are you losing hope that you can influence children's behavior, attitudes, and academic success? Exhausted and frustrated with your growing impatience toward some students' misbehavior? Disappointed that what you try seems to work, but only for awhile?

We must find and kill the spider. Have you ever swept away a spider web only to have it reappear? It's frustrating. To permanently get rid of the web, we need to find and kill the spider who builds it. It's the same with the children and teens we interact with. We must kill their spider - we must find the real problem causing the behaviors that concern us and eliminate it!

Dr. Kathy Koch has discovered real, lasting solutions for common problems such as bullying, academic apathy, judgmentalism, mean-spirited competitiveness, impatience, entitlement attitudes, and fear of failure. When implemented, solutions fit the problem and improvements can be permanent. The web won't likely reappear.

Identifying and killing the spider and not just sweeping away the web makes all the difference.

"Bullying Prevention: Celebrate Kids Style"  ~~ for teachers, parents, counselors

It's rare to find students who haven't been affected by bullying. One or more of the five types appears in most, if not all, schools. Every student plays at least one role in "the bullying circle." We must do something!

Bullying can be decreased and eventually eliminated entirely if certain concepts are embraced, modeled, and taught. Discover what interventions don't work and which do. Learn the four things students need so they're less likely to bully or be bullied. Learn how to realistically put these into practice.

Bullying can be decreased by helping students approach their need for belonging and healthy self-esteem in realistic and practical ways with the problem-solving strengths of the Authentic Answers Model. Find out which small group skills, relationship skills, and friendship skills can be taught to students and how to effectively do it.

No one is surprised that character is at the core of bullying. But, how do we help students develop and use good character qualities in good ways? How do we establish self-respect, self-control, and respect for others? Dr. Kathy teaches about the unique roles of gratitude and joy in establishing a "willing good character." This makes a huge difference!

"Mind Styles Matter: Team Building and Teaching Excellence"
                                                                                   ~~ for teachers, parents, counselors

If you're looking for a unique team building opportunity, this is it. The insights gained will help individuals understand and accept themselves more completely. Therefore, they'll know how to best contribute when working with colleagues. As everyone on a team discovers their Mind Styles, they'll see that differences between colleagues are just differences - not problems. They'll know how and when to invite others to participate in activiites and why others react the way they do to feelings, thoughts, and different opportunities.

This seminar is also a very unique way to approach effective teaching. When teachers understand that students' Mind Styles cause them to react badly or well to their teaching methods, they'll know why and how to make changes. Because of Mind Styles, some students like stories and some don't. Some need exact procedures and a model to follow before getting started. Some just want to get started. Some can only learn from teachers who they like or who they think like them. Others don't care. Teachers can learn how to teach to all the Styles and find great joy in doing so.

Counselors, therapists, and pastors also benefit from this training because some of people's problems can be traced to a lack of fit between their Mind Styles and their parents and spouses. A lack of fit to their career can also be due to people's Mind Styles. Discovering Mind Styles can explain much from a person's past and begin a successful healing journey.
